Pinoké D1 - Klein Zwitserland D1 (27-03-2022)
On Sunday we played an away game against Pinoké. We were coming off the back of two positive results for us (a win against HGC on Thursday and a win against Bloemendaal last Sunday).
We were all excited and rearing to go to try and get some points from Pinoké. We started well in the first few minutes, putting the Pinoké outlet under lots of pressure. We then had a lapse in our defence and Pinoké scored an early goal after just 3 minutes. This shocked us into action and we then played well for the rest of the 1st and 2nd quarter creating a few chances.
Unfortunately, Pinoké received a penalty stroke - which our mighty goal keeper Anna-Louise nearly saved! But they scored, bringing the score to 2-0. We then piled on the pressure - Lotte van Dongen scored a clinical 1v1 with the goal keeper to make it 2-1.
We were pressing high and creating lots of goal scoring opportunities. We took the goalie off and played an aggressive structure for the end of the 4th quarter to give it everything. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite pay off and we finished with a 2-1 loss. Overall, we were disappointed with the result, but we fought hard as a team and had lots of positives to take away from the game. We are now sitting 10th on the table and have a few weeks off competition before we get back into it against Hurley on the 20th April 💪
